About tallow
What is tallow, and why do you use it?
Tallow is one of the oldest, most trusted ingredients for skin, used for generations long before skincare aisles existed. Its fats are naturally similar to the ones your skin makes, so it moisturises richly and absorbs well. We hand-render bone tallow, purify it carefully and blend it in small batches with botanicals we choose for each formula.
Does it smell like tallow?
No. Our tallow is carefully purified, and each product is scented with natural ingredients. Our Face Cream has warm notes of frankincense and vanilla, and our body butters, scrubs and deodorants come in our two signature scents, Japanese Blossom and Sexy Colombian.
Is it vegan?
No. Our products contain tallow and beeswax, so they aren't vegan. They are never tested on animals.
Are your products made by hand?
Yes. SKN Studio began as small batches made for family, and every product is still made the same way it was in the very first batch: nothing rushed, nothing mass-produced.
Using our products
Which skin types can use SknStudio?
Our products are made for all skin types. They're rich, so a little goes a long way. Start with a small amount and build up.
I have sensitive or acne-prone skin. Can I use it?
Many people with sensitive skin love tallow, but every skin is different. We recommend a patch test first: apply a little to your inner arm and wait 24 hours. If you have a skin condition, check with your dermatologist before use.
I have allergies. What's inside?
The full ingredient list is on every product page. Our formulas include ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, beeswax and essential oils, so please check the list if you're sensitive to any of them.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our ingredients are simple and natural, but some products contain essential oils. Please check with your doctor before use.
How do I use the Face Cream?
Apply a small amount to clean skin and massage gently until absorbed. A pea-sized amount is usually enough for your whole face.
How do I use the Hair Mask?
Apply a generous amount to damp or dry hair, focusing on your scalp and ends. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes. The longer you leave it, the more your hair benefits. Then wash it out with shampoo. For best results, use it twice a week.
How do I use the Mask Wax?
Warm a small amount between your fingertips and work it through your hair. For a sleek, wet look, apply it to wet hair. For a textured, fuller look, apply it to dry hair. Start with a little and add more as needed.
How does the natural deodorant work? Will it stop sweat?
It's a deodorant, not an antiperspirant: it keeps you feeling fresh and scented, but it doesn't block sweat. Apply a small amount to clean, dry underarms and let it absorb before dressing. If you're switching from an antiperspirant, give your body a week or two to adjust.
Storage and shelf life
What's the shelf life?
Unopened, our products last 18 months. Once opened, use within 12 months. Because you only need a small amount each time, one jar goes a long way.
How should I store my products?
Keep the lid tightly closed and store your jar in a cool, dry place, away from direct sun and heat. Use clean, dry fingers or a small spatula, and keep water out of the jar. This keeps your product fresh for longer.
My product melted or changed texture. Is it still OK?
Yes. Natural butters and tallow soften in heat and firm up when cool. It's normal and doesn't affect quality. In summer, keep your jar out of direct sun, and if it melts, let it set again at room temperature.
How do I know if a product has gone off?
If it smells sour or unusual, changes colour, or shows any sign of mould, stop using it. Stored correctly and used within its shelf life, this shouldn't happen.
Orders, delivery and payment
Where do you deliver?
We deliver across Egypt.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are shipped and delivered within 2–3 business days, anywhere in Egypt.
Is shipping free?
Shipping is free on all orders above 1,000 EGP, anywhere in Egypt. Below that, delivery is 100 EGP in Cairo and Giza and 150 EGP to other governorates. Our bundles qualify automatically.
How can I pay?
We accept cash on delivery and InstaPay. Card payments are coming soon.
Can I return a product?
Yes. Unopened products can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Message us on WhatsApp or email info@sknstudiogg.com with your order number to start a return.
Are your products registered?
Yes. Our face and body products carry EDA No. COSMTOL26128179, and our hair products carry EDA No. COSMTOL26128122.
